which I consider a vital part of my site - could only copy about a month at a time, so I went into Geocities and
checked geobook and hit copy and named it... even though edit shows a blank screen when I hit view the renamed, copied guestbook comes up with all the entries - so I assume it is saved. Meanwhile, my forum entries only last a month! They just don't make it easy for us do they?

Comments: One of my own classics is when a fellow dispatcher was putting out a BOL for another agency, Mt View PD....Her rendition came out as Mt Pew VD...much to the amusement of all in the control room and numerous mike clicks from field
units. Another tale is the unit that called for a tow for a flat tire. Ran into the officer later on that night and he explained to me that the flat was caused when he was unloading his .45 Colt and accidently fired a round thru the floorboard into the front right tire. Ooops...

Comments: I started dispatching when I was 18 yrs old in my home town Communications Center. That was in 1984. There was no such thing as 911 and had to know the county really well. I was always the 1st in line for the supervisor position and would not obtain that position unless She left. I moved to another town in 1991 to work at a 911 center. I was there for 4 years. In that time, I learned about C.A.D. It's 1997 and I now run a 24 Warning Point for the State of SC. Anytime you wish to share an experience; do not hesitate to keep in touch.
